Let's Chat

For a true professional friendship to begin, it's important that there is a spark!

Choose between face to face chat, video chat or telephone call.

This is a chance to meet up to see if we are right for each other before embarking on your journey into parenthood, and it must be the best fit for you.

Colorful Gift Boxes

The Best Gift......

Make a huge difference to friend or loved ones by giving them a Gift Voucher that will TRULY be appreciated.

They can be used against and of the care packages/services I offer, especially when postnatal care in general in the UK barely scratches the service of what you might actually need/want.

Vouchers start from £50 (this covers the lowest price within the services I offer).

They can be given to the people you want to support but can't physically be there for, they're also ideal for gifts at baby showers, parental leaving do's in the workplace, or just because :)

One-off Antenatal Check

There are many reasons why you might take advantage of one or more antenatal appointments with me.

Whether you see me in addition to your NHS midwife or you are having limited care episodes, I am happy to provide you with whatever you need.

Full Antenatal & Postnatal Care ONLY

Antenatal Care - All appointments are carried out at your home or a convenient place for you and your family.

Your first appointment will take about 1-2 hours where we will record all the information to ensure your care is YOU centred. You can have as little or as much care as you want. You are entitled to take advantage of the NHS Screening Programmes that are offered throughout your pregnancy and for your baby (as long as you're entitled to NHS care).

I then offer a minimum of 9 additional antenatal appointments of up to about 1 hour after your initial booking as per national recommendations. These are shaped by everything you might need and all that should be offered to you, with you being in charge of what you accept.

Whenever you're ready, we can have a good old chat about what most people worry about - The Main Event! Exchanging ideas about how to make this experience yours, and yours ALONE.

Having worked in most midwifery settings, labour care and birth have GOT to be my absolute favourite thing to explore with people. There aren't many scenarios I haven't seen or been involved in so I have always feel in a good position to be able to really capture the 'what it's REALLY like' stuff with the 'why one procedure might be offered over another' and get into the nitty gritty about how we can overcome things that aren’t other people’s ‘ideals’

Postnatal Care - First 2 weeks: I like to visit families on 1st day home, day 3 & day 5 if you're happy with this, but we can be completely flexible as this journey is yours. On day 5, I will offer your baby the New Born Blood Spot Screening & weigh them if you'd like. I also offer ON CALL support 24/7 during this time. We can do a telephone/video call or I can travel to you, for example, if you need face-to-face support with feeding in the wee hours of the night!

After the first 2 weeks: Continued telephone support/home visits, the choice is completely yours. Care can be provided for up to several weeks after the birth of your baby :)

Birth Chit Chat

Whenever you're ready (but ideally before or by 36 weeks pregnant), we can have a good old chat about the things that most people worry about - labour, birth and immediately after!

We can do it all in one go or split is over 2 visits (may induce information overload lol!)Exploring ideas about how to make this experience yours, and yours ALONE, ensuring you are as best prepared for anything that could be thrown your way. Increasing your knowledge and confidence to ask ANY questions about things that might affect yours and your baby's wellbeing. You can write these thoughts and preferences down, tell your birth partner/s so they can help you advocate for yourself if you can't at the time.

Having open conversations about your choices and being comfortable with asking questions to professionals providing care for you doesn't make you awkward, demanding or obstructive. It means you know what you would like, what will work for you and your baby, and confirms to you whether the recommendation being offered is acceptable or negotiable (depending on the situation).

Over the last 14 years, there aren't many scenarios I haven't been involved with, witnessed or been aware of. This means I can advise you about why most procedures may be offered, why an outcome might happen and how that's likely to look for you and your family.

Newborn Infant Physical Examination (NIPE)

Providing you an un-rushed appointment to complete an "M.O.T" type examination of your new human in the comfort of your own home (if not already performed within 48hrs of birth).

This screening is historically referred to as the "doctor's baby check" or NIPE (pronounced ny-pee!) - a thorough top to toe check focussing on the condition and appearance of your baby's eyes, heart, hips and in boys, the testes. It is offered to all babies within 72 hours of their birth by a qualified practitioner and offered again by your GP at around 6-8 weeks of age to check that no abnormalities have developed.

Happy to perform NIPE's for other Independent Midwives too.

Early Days/Feeding Support

Early Days: If I can support you in any additional way, I will! Whether you need a good old shower/bath and a bit of "you time" or a cheeky but required nap, I can look after your new bundle while you get these much needed basics!! More of a personal touch than "just" a midwifery postnatal visit. Simple :)

Feeding Support: However you are feeding your baby, I offer support to everyone. This is an ON-CALL service so that I can be present at the time you ACTUALLY need the support, including those dodgy hours past midnight :D

Postnatal Visit

There are many reasons why you might take advantage of one or more postnatal checks with me.

Postnatal care in the UK can be varied, scanty and not fit for purpose which is something I've always been disappointed with. The level of support required/needed varies from family to family, but I strongly believe that more episodes of care should be available and not just because of clinical need alone.

You should be morphing into parenthood with a flexible, eyes wide open (but likely sleep deprived hehe), with a positive, I/we can do this (mostly!) attitude, and not be afraid to ask for support from me or your network.

You can see me in addition to your NHS midwife or if you are having limited care episodes, I am happy to provide you with whatever you need.
