The business of 'The Dirty Covid'

Please enjoy my 3 fur-babies. They came to me in October 2019 - I should have only kept one, but the other person changed their mind the day before they came!! On the second picture down, I have top left, Solomon. Top right is Salem BOTH boys! (Was told Salem was a girl cos his bits were a bit small lol). And bottom is Girly Shirley. Hint in the name..... she was deffo a girl!!!! Our 3 Witchy Black Cats I call them and they all have their own persona (as do all pets!) and we all love them to bits!!

On 5th April I developed a sore throat - I attributed this to hayfever (I often get a weird itchy/scratchy throat!) However, on the Monday I woke with a slight temperature of 38.2, rigours and generally feeling like absolute poop! I then had the delight of bedroom isolation for 7 days while my poor kidults (kid/mini adults) waited on me, delivering food and drinks to my bedroom door, waiting for me to decontaminate everything before it was took away and so on. My highest temperature reached 39.2 and I was quite breathless that whole day. After a short telling-off by a colleague, I did the 111 online covid questionnaire followed by a final prompt to call 111 for advice. Eventually got a call back from a doctor who said "yes, you probably don't normally have a temperature like that with your hayfever, do you?" Erm, no. Never. In 17 years!!!! So alas! She confirmed it was "highly likely" I had Coronavirus. I'm pretty sure too!

I was able to start watching the fantabulous Parks and Recreation (an American series written by the same people who does Brooklyn Nine-Nine). My word. Ron Swanson? You rock and I am NOT afraid to use the giphy's to my bestie (she told me about it AND loves Ron too hehe).

I had written to my local hospital where I had previously worked in an NHS capacity offering to help out as it hurt me to see work family/friends having to isolate, needing childcare etc and with me (prior to the Covid revelation!) being much better and having better home circumstances, I wanted to be able help out. I was granted permission to be able to work some shifts, so I am really hoping it pans out well and that I will be able to continue booking shifts after this pandemic fades out.

My view on Coronavirus? It is vicious, rapid in onset and no wonder vulnerable people are knocked for six and dying from it. I know a lot of my friends and family were worried, but even with my pants history with being ill, I didn't think I would be its victim. I've got lots to be getting on with Covid - so you can politely do-one! I do feel there is much more to the virus and its origin, but we'll never know the true extent of this horrific outbreak and actually how many people it has affected in illness and by death.

I'm still a bit coughy, snotty and a bit flushy every now and then , but generally getting better so am back at the hospital doing what I love best :) My client is coming along nicely and we have had lots of discussions about the current social climate and unfortunate (but required) restriction of birth partners, but I am hopeful that by the time her new human tries to enter this world, this pandemic will be diminishing and we will find ourselves in better circumstances.

In the meantime, there are dog walks to be had and trance to be euphoric to :)
