I spent a fair bit of this month working, but between shifts, I was updating my midwifery knowledge, preparing for my 2nd client becoming a mum to twins and was surrounded by cats!! I was not the direct carer for my 2nd client, but I had enough involvement to encourage her to engage with NHS services following previous negative experiences, and was able to ensure she had a good team of professionals overseeing her care. My client had a few other issues which prevented her being able to function as most people do, so much of her care and discussions around mode of delivery needed to be planned in good detail with all members of the multidisciplinary team needing to be involved.
The twins were born towards the end of September, most of the care episode went as smoothly as possible with only a few hiccups, overall though, mum and dad were happy.
I continued to be involved for a few visits after their birth and being home, but the parents needed to get to grips with these new babies and put into practice how their lives were going to change. I remember having my twin nieces and their parents living with me many years ago - carnage lol!
But I wish them lots of warm wishes for their future - and maybe I'll get the odd update :)
Please enjoy some more pics of my fur babies! (Yep - I have NO shame!!)
