Full Antenatal & Postnatal Care ONLY

Service Description

Antenatal Care All appointments are carried out at your home or a convenient place for you and your family. Your first appointment will take about 1-2 hours where we will record all the information to ensure your care is YOU centred. You can have as little or as much care as you want. You are entitled to take advantage of the NHS Screening Programmes that are offered throughout your pregnancy and for your baby (as long as you're entitled to NHS care). I then offer a minimum of 9 additional antenatal appointments of up to about 1 hour after your initial booking as per national recommendations. These are shaped by everything you might need and all that should be offered to you, with you being in charge of what you accept. Whenever you're ready, we can have a good old chat about what most people worry about - The Main Event! Exchanging ideas about how to make this experience yours, and yours ALONE. Having worked in most midwifery settings, labour care and birth have GOT to be my absolute favourite thing to explore with people. There aren't many scenarios I haven't seen or been involved in so I have always feel in a good position to be able to really capture the 'what it's REALLY like' stuff with the 'why one procedure might be offered over another' and get into the nitty gritty about how we can overcome things that aren’t other people’s ‘ideals’ Postnatal Care First 2 weeks: I like to visit families on 1st day home, day 3 & day 5 if you're happy with this, but we can be completely flexible as this journey is yours. On day 5, I will offer your baby the New Born Blood Spot Screening & weigh them if you'd like. I also offer ON CALL support 24/7 during this time. We can do a telephone/video call or I can travel to you, for example, if you need face-to-face support with feeding in the wee hours of the night! After the first 2 weeks: Continued telephone support/home visits, the choice is completely yours. Care can be provided for up to several weeks after the birth of your baby :)
